NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONIONS COMMISSION

The NLRC Chairperson has the status of a minister and is appointed by the President from among qualified public interest commissioners recommended by the Minister of Labor.
The RLRC Chairperson is appointed by the President from among qualified public interest commissioners recommended by the NLRC Chairperson and the Minister of Labor.

The committee is composed of tripartite representatives of employees, employers, and public interest committees respectively.
- Depending on the workload of each LRC, the employee and employer commissioners are composed of 10 to 50 persons, and the public interest commissioners are composed of 10 to 70 persons. The numbers of both employee and employer commissioners are the same .
The President, with the recommendation of the Minister of Labor, entrusts the NLRC commissioners.
The Chairperson of the NLRC, with the recommendation of the Chairperson of the RLRC, entrusts the RLRC commissioners.

The labor unions and the employers’ association entrust the employees’ commissioners and employers’ commissioners, respectively, through their recommendations.
Each of the labor unions, the employers’ association, and the chairperson of the LRC nominates public interest commissioners and takes turns eliminating candidates. The candidates left are appointed public interest commissioners.
- * A commissioner’s term of office is 3 years and they can be reappointed.
